Edinburgh Launch Night
A busy morning in the brewery printing up temporary pump clips, organising a band, checking current brews and packing my bags and I was ready to take the 3 hour 7 hour journey via Inverurie to Edinburgh. And actually Inverurie was an understatement, it was actually a right turn before Inverurie, past a hotel, across a bridge, a right at the cross roads, past the pink castle, through a farm and up a dirt track road just to get a PA system for the band! Anyway off we set, still wondering how the special cask for the night was going to taste...
We arrived in Edinburgh at the Kilderkin pub with enough time to get the band gear setup and grab a homemade pizza and cheeky sample of Island Shuffle...phew its craicin'! Out to the van for a quick shirt change and we were ready to get this party started, just needed a band...and fashionably late Donald Macdonald and the Islands rocked in the door. Whilst the lads were setting up folk started to crowd in and eventually the pub was rammed with friends, family, brand designs, publicans, beer raters, beer geeks, rockstars and grannys!
Plenty people were enjoying the beers, but first to go was the single limited edition cask of Island Shuffle. Close behind was the Happy Chappy, and last but certainly not least was our tantalising new coffee stout Brewed Awakening. All this was gone before the clock struck 11! What more a perfect way to finish up than a raffle for the first cases of bottles Cromarty beer and some quality t-shirts, so that's what we did!
